Winter Weddings

Winter weddings are a beautiful way to add warmth to a cold season. After all, what’s more fun than celebrating the love between two people as they begin their lives together? However, preparing for a winter wedding can be challenging. Choosing the right outfits, décor, food and yes, flowers is twice as hard in winter than during the warmer months. You and your wedding planner will have to make most of these decisions together, but here at Griffin’s Floral Design, we would love to be your partner in choosing all things related to flowers. While we would love to have you come in and chat with us, here are a few ideas to help get you started.

  • Tthumbnail-1he Right Bouquet – The right bouquet is more important in winter than any other time of the year. After all, you are likely to use fewer flowers overall, so you want to make the biggest impact with those you do use. Consider something unique and bright to make a big statement.
  • Embrace Holiday Flowers – Instead of ignoring the fact that your wedding is being held around Thanksgiving or Christmas, why not incorporate these holidays into your floral plans? Use holly, pinecones or even poinsettias to put a spark in the season.
  • White as Snow – One popular color scheme for winter weddings is “snow white.” Talk to your florist about what white flowers are in season or which can be obtained for your winter wedding. A beautiful white bouquet or white floral displays is one of the best ways to make winter the true theme of your wedding.
  • Winter is Valentine’s Day – While you may think of a winter wedding being around Christmas or New Year’s, a winter wedding could be held at Valentine’s too. In this case you may want to go all out with red roses, and other flowers that scream “LOVE.”

As you can see, there are many options available when you’re creating your floral plan for a winter wedding. Come in and chat with one of our wedding specialists at Griffin’s Floral Design. We can’t wait to work with you!
