Located on the Scioto River, Columbus is the capital of Ohio and the largest city in the state. Although today it is a fast-growing major American city, Columbus has a rich history that dates back over 200 years. Since opening in 1985, Griffin’s Floral Design has been a staple in the Columbus area serving the central Ohio region for nearly four decades.

Our Columbus location is housed in a red brick building in German Village, one of the area’s most atmospheric and historic neighborhoods. Originally built in the mid-1800s by German settlers, you’ll see lovely restored brick houses, shops, and sidewalks full of historic charm.
Just west of German Village is the Brewery District. Stroll along High and Front streets to discover the city’s historic beer scene which now has live entertainment and modern dining options. Other nearby attractions include Schiller Park with scenic trails, picnic areas, a fishing pond, and a sports field. For more outdoor fun, visit the Scioto Audubon Center which has 120 acres full of birds, native flora and fauna, ponds, and a great view of the Columbus skyline. On the Scioto Mile, you’ll find miles of multi-use trails and the largest free outdoor climbing wall in the U.S.

If you plan on venturing further out in Columbus, there’s no lack of stuff for you to see and do. For example, the world-class Columbus Zoo & Aquarium is a treat for all ages during any time of the year. The Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has gorgeous gardens, sculptures, and a stunning glasshouse on the grounds. For gardens of a different type, visit the sculpture gardens at the Columbus Museum of Art and peruse their permanent collection of famous artworks, too.
Columbus has the best of both worlds; a bustling modern city with all the amenities you could want and a charming, quaint historic quality. Home to one of the country’s top zoos, one of the largest universities, and famous football teams, Columbus also has the best park systems in the country with 16 parks spread over an area of 24,000 acres. All these reasons and more is why Griffin’s Floral Designs love Columbus.
